Our Why

At the BIG Vision Foundation, we take pride in our mission to encourage the belief of good sportsmanship, community service, honesty, loyalty, dignity, humility and respect for authority in our youth. We strive to teach and train the young individuals that participate in our programs to be better human beings. However, without recognizing and applying the motivation and passion that drives us in the every day work that we do, our organization would not be able to successfully deliver its mission. For this reason, we always try to remember to stop and ask ourselves, why? Why do we do what we do? Here are "our whys." Each week you will hear a different personal account from one of our team members as they share their why…

Introducing

Kashif Reyes
Director of Strength and Conditioning for the BIG Vision Foundation

Kashif, aka Kash, from Reading, PA also works for the Olivet Boys and Girls Cub in Reading, PA where he mentors children during after school programs. Kash also has his own health and wellness company where he provides boot camps for individuals who want to get in shape or train for a specific sport. “My passion for my city starts with building-up the youth” (Kash, 2014). Growing up in the city, Kash states “without the community organizations, such as the Olivet Boys and Girls Club and the YMCA, I don’t know who I would have relied or depended on.”
Kash met Dan Clouser, the President of BIG Vision Foundation while they were working with People’s Chronicle. After meeting, they quickly discovered their shared passion for youth outreach as they spoke of their visions for the younger generations in the city through youth sports and physical exercise. After their initial meeting, Dan kept in contact with Kash and offered him support through obstacles and challenging times. Kash’s expertise in health and fitness, as well as his connections with the urban youth, landed him the opportunity to work for the BIG Vision Foundation. “I accepted the position because it is doing something I love to do and I am working with good people where there is room to grow and to learn, we can use our own ideas…it’s exciting to start BIG Vision from the beginning" (Kash, 2014).
